Ingredients

  • 1 cup moringa drumsticks, peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil (vegetable oil or any oil of your choice)
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 green chili, chopped (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powde
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish (optional)
  • Lemon wedges for serving

How To Make

(1)Prepare Moringa Drumsticks: Peel the drumsticks and cut them into 2-inch pieces. If the drumsticks are mature, remove the fibrous outer layer.
(2)Heat Oil: Heat oil in a pan or wok over medium-high heat.
(3)Temper Mustard and Cumin Seeds: Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds to the hot oil. Let them splutter.
(4)Add Aromatics: Add minced garlic, sliced onions, grated ginger, and chopped green chili to the pan. Stir-fry until the onions become translucent.
(5)Add Drumsticks: Add the prepared moringa drumsticks to the pan. Stir well to coat them with the spices.
(6)Seasoning: Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Adjust the seasoning according to your taste preferences.
(7)Stir-Fry: Stir-fry the drumsticks for about 8-10 minutes or until they are cooked and tender. Keep stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
(8)Garnish and Serve: Garnish with fresh coriander leaves if desired. Serve the moringa drumstick stir-fry hot with rice or bread. Optionally, squeeze a bit of lemon juice over the stir-fry for a refreshing flavor.
